More Info On mab

I am a Texas girl who is now living in a smallish town in Arkansas. I started this blog when I lived in Turkey, kept it up for 6 months of nomadic living, added to it while living in NOLA (a.k.a. New Orleans), and now have decided to never move ever again. Bean tells us we will live in this house “until the end.”

I have been married to “the hub” for almost 12 years. When I blog, I sometimes call him RayRay or Raylo. There’s a funny story behind that. I haven’t told it yet.

Our oldest little girl was born in June of 2007. We call her Bean. Our second daughter, Peanut, was born in November of 2008. Although they are preschoolers, the drama that 2 close sisters can produce rivals middle school. In September we welcomed our son Little Mister. His sisters absolutely adore him! Some people ask why I don’t call my kids their real names on the blog — it’s to respect their privacy. That, and the fact that I watched too many episodes of Get Smart! when I was a kid and always wanted to have code names….

I can always eat chocolate or Mexican food. Even for breakfast.

My latest projects include sewing quilts, designing purses, mod podge, painting, and general craft mayhem. I plan to one day achieve world domination through craft.

I have an online shop where I sell vintage fabric and vintage home decor and goodies. I call it Ruby’s Retro City.

I like staying up late. I liked staying up late until my first child was born. Now I just like to sleep whenever and wherever I can. It’s 10 minutes before I have to pick up my kids? Nap in the minivan!

I don’t speak for about an hour after waking up. And smart people don’t speak to me then, either.

My real name is Mandi B. But online I decided to go by mab. (Yes, the proper spelling is “mab” — all lowercase because I want it that way.) Why the pseudonym? Because I could. And this is the closest I’ll ever get to having a super secret spy or fighter jet pilot name….
