Here’s the news for all you peeps: I’m 2 cm dilated and the doc thinks I’ll deliver within the next 2 days. Although this will make her a hair early, with the massive heat wave hitting our city, I can’t complain! I’m already having contractions, but they aren’t regular yet (and lots of them are so small that I can’t really feel them). So, we’ll see. (jandj, mkb, & rs, you’d better change your tickets & hurry over!)
Then again, we saw some friends in the waiting room. The doc told them the same thing with their first child and then she ended up being 2 weeks late. Sorry, Beanie…. that can’t be an option for you. You can be early, you can be on time. But, you can’t be late.
In other news, we had a great time celebrating our anniversary. We went to a swanky mall that was very nice & cool. After bacon cheeseburgers (real bacon! for real!), we walked around some, browsed the bookstores, enjoyed the A/C, and then had Hagen-Dazs ice cream. That was great! I did inform my hub that while a really great burger & ice cream were considered excellent anniversary choices here in Central Asia, it wouldn’t cut it back in the States.
Frankly, the best part of our anniversary was that we moved over to our friends’ house to be closer to the hospital. We love our friends & their precious girls. We also love their air-conditioning! Last night we set the unit to “arctic blast” and slept with a sheet & a blanket on for the first time in weeks. Delightful!
We’ll keep you posted on Bean’s arrival!
